While we are sure you’re aware of the japanese tea ceremony with its many acts and intricacies, have you ever partaken in a Russian Tea ceremony? Probably not, it's time to change that!
It’s only fitting that you experience a centuries old tradition on an estate where the first vines were planted over three hundred years ago. Equally storied and fabled is the tea ceremony. Back in the days of yore, having a cup of tea meant so much more than just drinking tea. All sorts of important dealings were had over tea, generally in dedicated tea-houses which often hosted business deals and the making of new partnerships. Not only for important occasions, the “lite” version of the ceremony when done at home could last up to three hours!
At Hazendal a specially sourced and imported black Russian tea blend is served from a steaming Samovar (a beautiful Russian tea urn) and presented in traditional hand-painted porcelain tea sets. The whole ritual is a visual and sensory intriguing set piece that is both culturally rich and an entertaining experience for all.
As they say in Mother Russia, to your health! “За здоровье!”
